Potter  acquires AMSECO

 To tighten its grip on the safety and security industry, Potter bought the fire and security product lines of AMSECO. This was among the few products that Potter was introducing into the market due to acquiring another brand. The acquisition meant that  Potter’s product lines would go beyond fire safety equipment and technologies.

 Potter bought AMSECO from a Japanese company that specialized in distributing its products in North America.  In this acquisition, Potter acquired assets of AMSECO, which included at least 860 product variations. It was also agreed that Potter would continue to engineer and manufacture all the products made by ASEMCO.

Distribution of AMSECO products was also to be done by Potter Electric. All the customers of ASEMCO were notified about the changes. However, the name ASEMCO will be retained and will be part of the Potter brand. All the previous locations of ASEMCO were consolidated and became part of Potter Electric.

Since ASEMCO had a reputation for designing and manufacturing quality products, the acquisition was quite successful and Potter would have an easy time when it came to marketing all the products by AMSECO.
